There is no better way to start off your day, than with a nutrient filled energy detox smoothie. Here is one of my go to favorites when I need a little boost or feeling a bit sluggish.
The Simple Life Energy Detox Smoothie Recipe
As with all my recipes, you will need to experiment with the different amounts of certain ingredients, per your taste preference.
- 1/4 to 1/2 of a whole beet
- 2 small carrots
- 1/2 of a medium sized apple (I prefer an organic gala or pink lady)
- 1 handful of almonds
- 1 teaspoon of Maca powder
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 ounces of spinach
- 2 pinches of sea salt
- 4-6 ounces of water
blend in a Vitamix or good quality blender until it reaches the consistency you like. I prefer mine to be a little more on the chunky side, but different strokes for different folks. You can use a hand blender, but they will usually not blend as well as a full sized blender.
