Well, after watching this episode you will begin to see why I’m calling this season “Fixing Stupid.” I point out just a small part of what my now terminated contractor did last season. Needless to say, his work was some of the worst I have ever seen. With that being said, I’m knee deep fixing everything so I can start with a clean slate. So far me and a helper have spent a month and a half fixing all the crappy work (a generous description) my former General Contractor did last season. After thousands of dollars in materials, and hundreds of hours of labor, I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully in the near future I will begin starting on the next phase and leave this “Fixing Stupid” stuff behind.
The Simple Life Blog
Here we are again another exciting season with my “Off The Grid” Project. I’m calling this season “Fixing Stupid,” as some of you know I had to fire my contractor after numerous ethical issues and substandard construction.
Unfortunately the pain is just beginning, because of the numerous problems I have to correct before I can move forward with the project. In the end they will get fixed, but it will take more time and money. Funny how you hire a contractor to save time and money, but the opposite is what usually occurs.
Below is a snippet from my upcoming Off-The-Grid book, which I hope to release in the near future. I have received a ton of questions regarding my off-the-grid project, especially about my difficulties dealing with general contractors. Anyone who has built a house or done some major remodeling knows dealing with contractors can be a serious pain in the you-know-what. There is a lot more to this chapter that I have not included, such as my advice on how to deal with bad contractors, and how to find a good one. To see the entire chapter you will just have to be patient and wait for the book to come out 🙂
One thing I will say, is I think this could possibly be the most important chapter in the entire book, so I hope you enjoy Gary’s unfiltered honesty snippet.
I get asked all the time what are my main principles or advice on how to obtain optimal health. It is a little harder than it seems, as it is different for every person. What I have done is put together what I consider to be the 5 pillars of optimal health. These are not all encompassing or perfect for everyone, but I do think most people who follow these will not only greatly improve their overall health, but their life as well.
How Bacteria Rule Your Intestines And Your Life
Your gastrointestinal tract is considered one of the most complex microbial ecosystems in the world. The microbes in your gut not only affect your digestion, but your entire health. It is estimated nearly 100 trillion fungi, bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms compose your body’s micro-flora. You have 10 to 1 bacteria to cells in your body. Basically humans are living bacteria, and without them our species would cease to exist. To say this relationship between bacteria and the human host is essential, but yet greatly misunderstood by most is an understatement.
