It is hard to believe it has been two years since I released my Amazon Best Selling book Going Off The Grid, and I started my off the grid project nearly six years ago. Currently, I’m working on the accompanying workbook for Going Off The Grid and Living Off The Grid. I think it is a perfect fit for these books, as it takes you from the research and information phase to planning and budgeting your off grid project. Below is the description and what Living Off The Grid is about:
Being that I’m in the sticks it would have been difficult to pore a slab, and a place where it can get pretty cold in the winter so I decided to go with a crawl space. I did this for two primary reasons: 1) As I said above, it would have been really difficult and expensive to pore a slab. 2) I wanted to have easy access to pipes and plumbing if anything ever went wrong. Great idea, well if my contractor would have done it correctly. So what started out as a great idea turned into a huge fix as I outline below and show in this video.
Here is Episode 11 of “Gary’s Off The Grid Project.”
Hey folks, I know it has been a bit long on the updates, but I promise you I have been keeping busy with my off the grid project. I just started getting everything in order to build the house, to include permits, site prep and all that other fun stuff. In this episode I will show you the building site preparation, and what the final plans are for the house construction. Make sure to stay tuned, because I will have more videos coming shortly. I’m doing my best to document all the construction, so you can see how this crazy project is coming together.
